What Kinds of Work Have I Done

In a professional setting I have held roles in both the Business and IT domains. In addition to this, I have spent a great deal of my own personal time honing skills outside of my day-to-day responsibilities. This all encompassing approach to my work has made me well rounded, but my typical involvements include:

• 9 years designing custom business solutions
• 7 years analyzing and improving enterprise operations
• 4 years architecting information platforms, data warehouses, and data management solutions
• 3 years running projects and programs

What Does my Day Look Like

Currently I serve as the Data Architect for an Education company. In this role I own all strategy pertaining to Data Management and work with our Data Engineers, BI Team, Development Teams, and our Business Leaders to identify the needs of the company from a Data perspective. Since May 2018 we have been implementing a Data Vault 2.0 Warehouse and have successfully loaded 5 sources as of September 2019.

Working hands on with the program we have defined our own version of the Data Vault 2.0 reference architecture, implemented an automated solution utilizing metadata from our data models to generate the warehouse DDL, and also created a in house application to manage our warehouse and deploy across environments.

I am well versed in working with cloud hosted solutions, working with As A Service offerings such as AWS RDS, and implementing custom installs of databases on AWS EC2 instances.
